GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A legendary Arizona sports figure was honored with a community basketball court in Glendale on Monday.
Al McCoy was the well-known “Voice of the Suns” for over five decades before his death in 2024 . He was also a proud resident of Glendale for those 50 years.
The City of Glendale and the Phoenix Suns and Mercury Foundation honored the legendary Arizonan with the Al McCoy Memorial Basketball Court, which was unveiled Monday morning.
The new court is located at New World Park , which has been entirely redesigned, near 50th and Barbara avenues.
