ANDERSON — During the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's Friends of the Poor Walk Saturday, a message of giving back resonated among young and old participants alike.
The annual walk, which acts as the organization’s flagship fundraiser to help clients defray rent and utility costs, drew nearly 300 people and 70 volunteers to Highland Middle School. They helped staff face painting stations and kept eyes on children who giggled with excitement as they tried out one of the bounce houses.
