SOUTHERN INDIANA — Many families at Kids Care Academy, a Southern Indiana preschool, received state subsidies to help with childcare costs, but with recent cuts to childcare funding, the preschool is preparing to shut its doors after 15 years in business.
Sherri Coffey, owner of Kids Care Academy, said next Friday is the last day for the preschool, which has locations in New Albany and Jeffersonville. It is closing in large part due to the significant funding cuts to the state’s childcare reimbursement and On My Way Pre-K programs.
