EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- After a bye last week, Michigan State's football team returns to action this weekend on the road at Nebraska.

The Spartans suffered a 45-31 loss to USC heading into the bye week, marking the team's first loss of the season.

The Trojans gained 523 total yards of offense against the Spartans, who had a handful of players on defense leave the game with an injury or due to targeting.

Head coach Jonathan Smith is having his weekly press conference on Monday and will give an update on the injuries and how the team is feeling heading into the Nebraska game.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Cornhuskers is set for Saturday at 4 pm on FS1.
