QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) - The Gadsden County School District has placed five campuses on a precautionary lockdown due to an “escaped convict.”

According to a post from the district, George W. Munroe Elementary, James A. Shanks Middle School, Stewart Street Elementary, Gadsden Technical College, and Carter-Parramore Academy were locked down around 11:30 a.m. on Monday when someone “escaped” from the courthouse.

The district stressed that students and staff are safe and are asking parents not to go to the school.
