GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Public Service Commission wants to hear from you about a new proposal from Duke Energy Carolinas.

FOX Carolina brought you the First Alert back in July when Duke Energy first announced they filed a request to raise rates. If approved, residential customers will see bills go up by nearly 8 percent. This is on top of another rate hike that was approved last year.

Duke Energy says the rate hike reflects investments it’s made in grid strength and reliability.
