VALPARAISO — A woman reportedly told police she was having a good time on a date with a Crown Point man she met on Facebook until he dropped her off at her local residence.

It was then that the accused, 42-year-old Andrew Roge, allegedly pushed her down, held her by the throat and raped her, police say.

"You were such a gentleman all night, this is not okay," the woman reportedly told Roge.

Roge allegedly looked at her and replied, "I'm not a gentleman."

When later confronted by police, Roge allegedly said the woman wanted the forced approach to sex and despite his attempts to leave, the two had a consensual encounter.

Roge, who appeared to remain in custody early Monday at the Porter County Jail on a $10,000 surety bond, is charged with rape, records show.
