NORMAN — Oklahoma announced Monday that it will wear its Bud Wilkinson era throwback uniforms when it faces Kent State at 3 p.m. Saturday.

OU debuted that particular set of alternates against Houston last season, paying homage to the Wilkinson teams of 1946-56 that wore similar attire.

The Wilkinson era crimson jerseys feature white numbers, white tri stripes on the shoulder sleeves and Southeastern Conference and Jordan Brand patches.

The white pants and helmets feature red striping and the modern OU logo is absent from the helmets.

OU previously reprised the Wilkinson era design with its “Crimson Legacy” uniforms worn during the 2003 season.

Those uniforms were slightly more maroon than the current iteration.
