The worst has been confirmed for Malik Nabers.

The New York Giants ' star receiver reportedly will miss the rest of the season after an MRI confirmed he suffered a torn ACL.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the news Monday.

Nabers was injured on a non-contact play in the second quarter of Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Chargers . While beginning to jump for a deep pass from rookie Jaxson Dart, Nabers stumbled on his lift-off and came down in what appeared to be serious pain.

Nabers had two catches for 20 yards prior to the injury.

Head coach Brian Daboll did not offer much of an update after the game, but reports emerged later Sunday that Nabers had likely torn his ACL.

The second-year wideout was one of the few bright spots for the Giants
