AFTER Russell Wilson was benched by the New York Giants, Terry Bradshaw explained how his experience was getting benched.
Bradshaw revealed that he got benched shockingly early into his Pittsburgh Steelers tenure.
Bradshaw was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick of the 1970 NFL Draft, but he wasn't immediately trusted by his team.
In Week 1 of his first season, Bradshaw was sent to the bench in favor of second-year quarterback Terry Hanratty.
"I was the number one pick in the draft and I lost my starting job at halftime of the very first game, that's how bad I was," he said.
Bradshaw was comparing his situation to that of Wilson and Jaxson Dart , which is similar but not quite the same.
Dart was taken at the back end of the first round, while Bradshaw was taken first.
