Mets predicted to pursue trade for Paul Skenes this offseason

After dropping the final game of the 2025 MLB season to the Miami Marlins , the New York Mets are looking to make some major changes this offseason.

While there will be some turnover in the coaching staff and with the lineup, the main issue that needs to be addressed is the starting rotation. There are some intriguing names in free agency, but the Mets could look elsewhere this offseason.

Andy Martino of SNY.tv predicts that the Mets, in their aggressive pursuit of a new ace-level starter for the rotation, could turn to Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes in a trade if he were to become available.
