Bad Bunny ’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime show is going to be a major moment, but it won’t be the Puerto Rican superstar’s first appearance on that stage. Back in 2020, he joined Shakira during her co- headlining performance with Jennifer Lopez at Super Bowl LIV.

Shakira and Lopez’s halftime show was the first to be produced by Jay Z and Roc Nation in collaboration with the NFL. The selection of the two best-selling artists was intentionally meant to reflect the Latin culture of host city Miami that year. That halftime show marked the third time Latin music artists headlined a Super Bowl halftime, as Gloria Estefan played both in 1992 and 1999.
