NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Over 300,000 New York City Housing Authority residents won't have to worry about internet bills for the foreseeable future.
New York City's "Big Apple Connect" program, which provides free, high-speed internet and basic cable television to NYCHA residents across the five boroughs, has been extended through June 2028, Mayor Eric Adams announced Monday.
The program was first launched in 2022 in an effort to "bridge the digital divide" among New Yorkers. In its three years of operation, the program has grown from 100 NYCHA sites to more than 200.
