GREENVILLE, S.C. —

The Anderson University community is mourning the loss of a student after a crash, while praying for another student, who remains in serious condition.

Shane Roberts McVey, 19, of Maryland, died at the hospital after being involved in a crash on White Horse Road Friday evening, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office said McVey was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the two-vehicle crash. They said there were multiple people injured in the crash.

Anderson University said McVey was a student. The university said two other students were injured in the crash and one remains in serious condition.

The university president Evans P. Whitaker sent the following message to the campus family:
