BILLINGS The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is warning residents about harmful algae blooms (HAB) appearing in lakes and reservoirs across the state. The Tongue River Reservoir in Big Horn County received its first notice at the end of August.
Mark Landerman often visits the reservoir to fish, but this time hes taking extra precautions with his dogs due to the presence of blue-green algae.

(Its) pretty concerning because we do fish quite often in the fall, and it seems like in the past few years it's been happening quite a bit, Landerman said Sunday.
