Environment Canada is warning that up to 60 millimetres of rain could fall in Howe Sound and along Metro Vancouver's North Shore on Monday as a "robust frontal system" pushes through the South Coast.

"Rain, at times heavy, is expected," said the forecaster in a warning on its website.

It said the heavy rain could result in reduced visibility and pooling water on roads.

The British Columbia River Forecast Centre has high streamflow advisories in place for all of Vancouver Island, Howe Sound, Vancouver, and parts of the Central Coast, North and South Thompson, central B.C. and the Upper Columbia regions.
