Bengaluru, Sep 29: In a major relief for job aspirants, the state government on Monday announced a three-year age relaxation for direct recruitment to civil service posts, terming it a Dasara bumper gift.

The order, issued by the government, states that the relaxation will be applicable once, across all categories of candidates, for direct recruitment conducted through various state departments.

Recently, competitive exam candidates and student organisations had staged protests in Dharwad demanding a five-year age relaxation and recruitment orders for PSI and constable posts, putting pressure on the government.
