SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - Every year, the state of Georgia’s Department of Education (GaDOE) releases data about the performance of public high schools, including their graduation rates.
Overall, the state’s high school graduation rate improved from 85.4% in 2024 to 87.2% this year, which GaDOE said is an all-time high. Just 10 years ago, in 2015, the statewide graduation rate was 79%.
GaDOE said that 134 Georgia school districts recorded graduation rates of 90% or higher in 2025.
“I am so proud of Georgia’s class of 2025 and the teachers, staff and families who supported them. Seeing this increase in a single year is a strong indicator of the work Georgia’s schools and districts are doing to keep students engaged in their education and prepare them for successful lives after high school
