Donald Trump has said Hamas is being given a three or four-day deadline to accept his 20-point peace plan for Gaza.
The proposals, announced during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington on Monday, would see an immediate ceasefire and the phased withdrawal of Israeli troops.
In return, Hamas would release all remaining Israeli hostages, lay down its arms and give up any governing role in the Gaza Strip.
The deal was welcomed by Middle Eastern and European nations but Hamas is still considering its response.
