Spirit Airlines to furlough 393 Las Vegas flight attendants in December

LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Nearly 400 Las Vegas-based Spirit Airlines flight attendants will be furloughed in December, according to a letter from the airline.

In a WARN letter dated Sept. 22, Spirit Airlines officials announced that 393 employees would be furloughed on Dec. 1 or during the 14 days starting on Dec. 1.

The furloughs involve only flight attendants, according to the release, which said the affected employees are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants. The release notes that the furlough is expected to be temporary, but officials have been unable to determine its duration.
