ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Denzell Ritzie of Albany was sentenced to nine years in state prison on September 26 as a result of a sex crime case involving children, the Schenectady County District Attorney's Office announced. Ritzie, 31, pleaded guilty on July 25.

As part of his plea, Ritzie admitted to subjecting three children to sexual contact across multiple instances between August 2022 and March 2024. One of the victims was eight years old, and the other two were 13 years old at the time of the incidents.

Ritzie confessed before Judge Mark Caruso to two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. In addition to his prison term, Ritzie was ordered to serve 10 years of parole and must register as a sex offender. Judge Chad Brown oversaw Ritzi
