AVENAL, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 16-year-old was arrested in connection with a shooting from August in Avenal, police said Tuesday.

On Aug. 27, at around 5:15 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Corcoran Avenue for reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers said they located evidence that a shooting had occurred. Detectives from the department and a property and evidence officer responded to investigate the shooting.

Following the investigation, on Sept. 29, officers and detectives executed search warrants at a residence in the 800 block of South Corcoran related to the shooting.

Police said that the 16-year-old was located at a different location, arrested and is facing felony charges related to the shooting.

The teen was booked at the Kings County Jail.
