FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Hundreds of community leaders packed the convention center on Tuesday for Fresno County’s annual State of the County luncheon.

The sold-out event highlighted budget priorities, honored county employees and gave residents a look at what lies ahead.

More than a thousand people filled the hall to hear updates from county leaders and local officials.

For newly elected Supervisor Luis Chavez, it was his first State of the County event as part of the board.

“Well, it’s kind of a little bit of homecoming for me," Chavez said. "I worked with the county about 20 years ago and now, you know, coming full circle and being back here, the supervisor, I think, for me is just incredibly humbling."

He added that the luncheon was a chance for leaders to come together
