DECORAH, Iowa — Michael T. Osterholm, Ph.D., a renowned epidemiologist, will host a book signing at the Luther College Book Shop on Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
Osterholm will be signing his latest book, "The Big One: How We Must Prepare for Future Deadly Pandemics," co-authored with Mark Olshaker. The book examines past pandemics, evaluates the handling of COVID-19, and projects future pandemics and necessary preparations.
The publisher describes the book as "a gripping, comprehensive, and urgent wake-up call," emphasizing the need for preparation against future pandemics.
Osterholm, a 1975 Luther graduate and current regent, holds several positions at the University of Minnesota, including director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research
