New Mexico lawmakers will convene at the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the special legislative session on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has issued a proclamation to address what some state lawmakers call significant challenges of federal funding cuts resulting from President Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill' signed into law on July 4, 2025.
