The 55-to-45 vote in the Senate, falling short of the 60 votes needed to advance the legislation. The shutdown will become effective from 12:01 AM on Wednesday (US time). Jigar Trivedi, Senior Research Analyst at Reliance Securities, told PTI that a shutdown would begin on Wednesday, potentially delaying the release of key economic data, including the September nonfarm payrolls report. Earlier on Monday, talks between President Donald Trump and US congressional leaders ended without a deal on short-term funding.
