LOS ANGELES — USC starting center Kilian O’Connor will miss at least the next two games due to an apparent lower body injury sustained in Saturday’s 34-32 loss at Illinois .

“Kilian will for sure miss these next two,” head coach Lincoln Riley told reporters after practice on Tuesday. “A possibility to get him back after that.”

Backup center J’Onre Reed will start at center. He came into the Illinois game after O’Connor was injured in the second quarter and helped allow quarterback Jayden Maiava to pass for 364 yards and two touchdowns with one interception – his first of the season.

Reed was able to recover from a mistake on just his third repetition in the game in which he moved too far down the field without blocking anyone on a trick play. Running back Waymond Jordan lined up the
