Deepti Sharma remained calm under pressure, leading India to a thrilling victory over Sri Lanka in the opening match of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025.

New Delhi: Deepti Sharma said she felt no pressure despite being left with work to do at the crease as she guided India to victory over Sri Lanka in the opening match of the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Sharma smashed an impressive 53 as India secured convincing 59-runs victory (DLS method), after beginning her partnership with Amanjot Kaur with the team at 124 for six. Kaur contributed 57 runs and together the pair added a century partnership before the seventh wicket fell, putting India on course for victory.
