PEORIA, Ill. – Five people accused of impeding police assisting a gunshot victim early Sunday morning in downtown Peoria were ordered to remain in jail.

25 News reports police body camera footage from eight officers were shown at a detention hearing on Tuesday, showing multiple altercations between bystanders and police, as the victim lay on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The five, each charged with Aggravated Battery, are 32–year-old Wesley Collins, 29-year-old Larenshia Harris-Moore, 28-year-old Ariann Jackson, 32-year-old Barry Anderson, and 38-year-old Trennel Carter. Collins is also charged with allegedly trying to disarm a police officer, while Anderson was also charged for allegedly breaking the handle of a police car.
