Strong effort plays from Elmer Soderblom and Jonatan Berggren and 27 saves by Cam Talbot Tuesday lifted the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-1 preseason victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

The Red Wings (3-3-0) ended a three-game exhibition skid heading into their final two preseason games against Toronto, Thursday on the road (7 p.m., livestreamed on DetroitRedWings.com) and Saturday at home (7 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).

J.T. Compher, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard and Lucas Raymond scored for the Red Wings.

Compher opened the scoring at 3:36 of the first period after Soderblom stripped the puck from Connor Bedard just inside the Detroit blue line and led a rush the other way before making a drop pass to Compher.
