The Embassy of India Wednesday expressed its deepest condolences to the families of those affected by the earthquake in Philippines. The disaster claimed at least 69 lives, as per Reuters.

Taking to X, the embassy said, “The Embassy of India extends its deepest condolences to the people affected by the earthquake in the Cebu province and to the government and people of the Philippines.”

“Our thought and prayers are with all those impacted by the earthquake,” the embassy added.

At least 69 people have died and more than 150 have been injured in a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu province in central Philippines late Tuesday.

The tremor, set off by a local fault, cut power and forced residents to evacuate homes.
