The Rongram Durga Puja Committee, one of the oldest in the Garo Hills, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, marking 50 years of devotion and community spirit with elaborate festivities and social initiatives.
Established in 1975, the committee has become a cultural cornerstone of the region. This year’s celebrations, which began on September 22, have drawn large crowds from Rongram, Tura and surrounding areas. The pandal, known for its striking decorations, has been a major attraction, with hundreds of devotees and visitors thronging daily.
“We have received very positive feedback from the public this year,” said Mohan Sapkota, General Secretary of the Golden Jubilee Committee. “Since it is our 50th year, we wanted to make it special. The pandal design is our largest yet and we a
