New Delhi: In a significant political development, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Minority Morcha has formally urged the Government of India to posthumously confer the Bharat Ratna on Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

In a letter dated September 30, 2025, addressed to the honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu, BJP Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui made a compelling case for honoring Dr. Hedgewar’s legacy. The proposal, submitted under the name of Tekal Siddiqui, highlights Dr. Hedgewar’s role as a freedom fighter, social reformer, and nation-builder.
