Eight years ago, senior Hayden Neale first witnessed the high level of soccer that Boulder vs. Fairview had to offer northern Colorado.

On Tuesday night at Recht Field, in his first time donning a Boulder varsity jersey, he was the star that younger players would one day hope to emulate. In the last 40 minutes alone, he assisted one goal and scored two more in the ninth-ranked Panthers’ 4-3 win over No. 7 Fairview.

“This is my first time playing in the rivalry, but I’ve been watching this game since I was probably in about fourth grade, coming here with my club team and watching it,” Neale said. “It’s always been the best game of the season. It just showed the pride that soccer has in Boulder. For me, this was really a dream come true.”
