Qantas is promising a "comprehensive package" to support dozens of local pilots and cabin crew, after confirming they will no longer be able to work out of Canberra.
The airline, which sparked outrage last month when it launched a review of three regional QantasLink bases , announced on Wednesday that it had made the "difficult decision" to push ahead with the plan.
It means about 30 local employees, who have set their lives up in the ACT, will have to either move to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane - or face long commutes away from their loved ones.
A further 40 staff working from QantasLink in Hobart and Mildura will also be affected when all three bases close in April 2026.
