Hundreds of thousands of Australian workers are getting a pay increase as a result of a recent Fair Work Commission decision.
An estimated 400,000 workers in Australia’s aged care sector will see their wages increase from October 1 as a result of the FWC’s decision to increase wages in three separate awards.
This includes direct-care residential aged care workers, some home care workers, and registered and enrolled nurses working in aged care.
The increase will see a Registered Nurse on level 2, pay point 3 of the award – the most common level amongst Registered Nurses – take home an extra $60.20 per week.
Enrolled Nurses on level 2 award will see a bump in their pay by $62.40 per week, while Personal Care Workers on a level 3 award will benefit by $39.50 per week.
