New Delhi: Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and singer Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddhartha Sharma have been arrested in Delhi in connection with the investigation into the singer’s death. Assam Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) took both into custody and brought them to Guwahati, where a court remanded them to 14 days’ police custody.

Police officials said Mahanta was detained at Indira Gandhi International Airport after arriving from Singapore, while Sharma was picked up from a residential flat in Gurugram. Both were produced before the Kamrup Chief Judicial Magistrate’s residence court due to the Durga Puja holidays, and were sent to SIT custody for further interrogation. ADVERTISEMENT
