Motorists are facing severe traffic congestion on a major motorway this morning with two lanes closed due to a crash.

Traffic is building on the M6 with the two lanes closed on the northbound carriageway between junctions 25 at Wigan and 26 at the Orrell Interchange, in Greater Manchester.

A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J25 (Bryn) to J26 M58 (Orrell Interchange).
