Flag football is one of the fastest growing high school sports in the country, and it has become a huge hit in the Greater Savannah area since it became sanctioned by the GHSA in 2020, when Calvary Day was one of the first teams in Georgia to win a state championship.

Last season, Jenkins reached the Class 2A state semifinals, where the Warriors lost to eventual champion Greenbrier. New Hampstead and Calvary Day reached the Class 2A state quarterfinals. In Class 3A, South Effingham had its best year yet as the Mustangs advanced to the state quarterfinals.
