It's budget season across Indiana. The bill for Gov. Mike Braun's property tax cut is coming due — and he's not the one paying it.

The No. 1 topic of discussion almost everywhere is what to do about revenue shortfalls hitting cities, towns and counties with little warning.

"Our biggest challenge is Senate Bill 1," Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour, a Republican, said during an August press conference kicking off his city's budget process. That's the property tax reform bill that passed through the Indiana General Assembly earlier this year and was signed into law by Braun.
