CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Jury selection in the trial for the woman accused of murdering a toddler at the North Olmsted Giant Eagle began Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas officials said opening statements could be heard Monday, Oct. 6 in Bionca Ellis’s trial.
Ellis is accused of stabbing three-year-old Julian Wood to death in the parking lot of the North Olmsted Giant Eagle on June 3, 2024.
Julian was with his mother, Margot when they were attacked.
Margot was stabbed while trying to pull her child from the grocery cart, but survived her injuries.
Jury selection should take several days.
There is no court activity on Friday.
Opening statements are expected to be heard on Oct. 7.
