The Town of Ste. Anne is planning to put surplus tax dollars toward upgrades at its splash park.

Mayor Yvan St. Vincent says the town is expecting a surplus of between $100,000 and $150,000 this year. He explains the extra money comes from property assessments that catch up after homes are built.

“With our growth, this seems to happen every year,” said St. Vincent. “It’s a nice little surprise of these surplus taxes that you didn’t know were coming in because we’re not in control of when they come in.”

Council has already set aside funds for bigger projects in the 2026 budget, but the mayor says they are also considering immediate upgrades to the splash park, which has been in use for 10 years. The town plans to replace aging fixtures and prepare for the installation of a new water filt
