Modi Cabinet approves MSP hike for Rabi crops including wheat for 2026-27

New Delhi, October 1, 2025: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday highlighted the Cabinet’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the upcoming Rabi season.

Speaking to the media, he said, “The MSP hike for the Rabi season will channel a total of ₹84,263 crore to our hardworking farmers. The estimated procurement during the 2026-27 Rabi season is expected to reach 297 lakh metric tons, and farmers will be paid ₹84,263 crore based on the proposed MSP.”
