Agartala, Oct 1: Six inmates, including five undertrial prisoners and one life convict, escaped from Dharmanagar Sub-Jail in Tripura during the early hours of Wednesday, officials confirmed. The breakout occurred after the prisoners attacked a jail guard with sharp weapons as they were being taken out for breakfast and morning ablutions.
The injured guard, Bedu Miah, is currently receiving treatment at Dharmanagar District Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
