BARBERTON, Ohio (WOIO) - This Friday’s varsity football game between Barberton High School and Highland High School was canceled late Tuesday by Barberton school officials.
According to Highland school officials, the game was canceled because 10 of Barberton’s starting players are injured and would be unable to play Friday.
This weekend is homecoming for Highland students and in an effort to save the game, Highland school officials said they tried to work with Barberton on a modified game plan; including, abbreviated quarters and a running clock.
