COLUMBIA, S.C. — Much drier air is now settling into the Carolinas. Skies may still hold onto some thin clouds at times, but for the most part, rain has come to an end.
A steady northeast breeze will continue through the day, with wind gusts reaching up to 20 mph in some spots. Afternoon highs will be near 80 degrees , right around normal for this time of year, before dipping into slightly cooler territory overnight.
Through the end of the week, high pressure to the north will keep cool and dry conditions locked in. Daytime highs Thursday and Friday will only reach the middle to upper 70s, a few degrees below average.
