UPPER TOWNSHIP — Set in a clearing in a section of the Cape May National Refuge off Tyler Road lies the Young Family burial ground, where rest the earthly remains of Ensign Henry Young, a veteran of the American Revolution.
On Saturday, veterans organizations, members of the Sons of the American Revolution and other groups gathered in a small parking lot off Tyler Road to dedicate a historic marker in Young’s name, donated by the William C. Pomeroy Foundation, based in Syracuse, New York.
Some participants wore colonial-era uniforms, and there were remarks from American Legion members, as well as from Shea Pease, the regent of the General Lafayette Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a welcome from Christopher Sands, the president of the New Jersey Socie
