International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Future Host Commission member Andrew Parsons believes cricket still needs some time and work to make it to the Paralympics, despite its addition, in the T20 format, to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics roster.
Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, but its audience is limited mostly to Commonwealth countries, with offers ongoing to push it beyond. The appeal of the billions of eyeballs it could bring pushed the IOC to mark its return for LA2028, even if it meant fast-tracking the infrastructural developments in the USA. But Parsons said it wasn’t as simple for the Paralympics.
