BILLINGS, Mont. – Sheri Lynn Boelter, a former CEO of New Day Inc., has been charged with embezzling between $25,000 and $100,000 from the Billings-based nonprofit. She was charged on September 30, 2025, in Yellowstone County District Court with felony theft and felony forgery.

Boelter, 53, is accused of using the nonprofit's funds for personal purchases. Her next court date is set for October 21, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

New Day Inc. provides mental health and addiction treatment services. The organization has been serving the community since 1993.

According to Yellowstone County Deputy Attorney Anna Sullivan, Jeff Berger, New Day's board chairman, filed a complaint in January about suspicious purchases on Boelter's company credit card.
