LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A woman thwarted a sexual assault Sunday night on the James S. Miner River Trail in Corunna, police say.
Corunna police were dispatched to the park on Sept. 28 at approximately 7:11 p.m. A female victim, police say, reported that she had been physically assaulted by an unknown male who "attempted to sexually assault" her.
The woman was able to fight off her attacker.
While police confirm a male was arrested in the area during the investigation, officials say the man does not appear to be connected with the assaults. He was arrested on outstanding warrants.
The investigation into the incident by Corunna Police Department officials continues.
